Rocker Tommy Lee will team up with members of Metallica and Guns N' Roses to form a new group who will search for their lead singer on the reality show Rock Star.

The former Motley Crue drummer will team up with Metallica guitarist Jason Newsted and Gilby Clark from Guns N' Roses to form a new band called Supernova.

Last season Rock Star featured the surviving members of INXS searching for a new lead singer to replace the late Michael Hutchence.

Rocker Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke will return as hosts of the show.

Navarro says, "Friends of mine, like Slash, Macy Gray, Moby and Rob Zombie, will join us and throw in their two cents about who should stay and who should go."

Writer-performer Butch Walker who has written or produced tracks for Avril Lavigne, Pink and Bowling For Soup will produce Supernova's album.

The band will release its first album and hit the road in 2007.
