I would vote for whichever candidate promised to bring back Rock Star.
I do however live in Texas and my vote wouldn't matter really (we're going to be Republican, so I'm fine). |

As I was trying to find the latest news article about JD and INXS, I stumbled across an earlier one from back when he first joined the band. Apparently he
wanted to rename the band to something like "The Farriss Brothers" (because the main band members are brothers) and one of the band members made some
bitchy comment to a reporter about how JD hadn't been in the band 5 minutes and already he's trying to change it's name.

I bought Storm's album at one of her shows. Love it! Also downloaded Marty Casey's album. Trees will never get old!
I believe that story about J.D. wanting to change the name. The guy's got an ego and always has. I can't believe that he would use drugs while in INXS after knowing the band's history with Michael Hutchence. As if they would have any tolerance for it, whether it affected his ability to do his job or not. He ruined the band and ruined his career. Good looking and telented, but obviously has problems. |

That's a bummer about JD. I really think the guy has talent and I hope he kicks his drug habit and ends up making a successful run at a solo career or
putting his own band together.
I think he was in a tough spot winning RS - INXS. He was truly a fan of INXS and I'm sure went into it with high hopes, but absolutely no one could ever be successful filling Hutchence's shoes and I'm sure it was tough for him to tour with INXS and constantly be attacked in that regard. Personally, it didn't bother me to hear that he asked the band to change the name from INXS to "Fariss Brothers" and I don't see it as an ego thing, but probably more of a I am never going to be Michael Hutchence and INXS died with Hutchence, so we should name the band something else. If it was an ego thing, JD would have requested to change the name to JD & the Over-the-Hill Aussies or something. I hope JD turns things around and doesn't let his talent go to waste. And Rock Star was the best talent reality competition and I wish they would bring it back in some way. |

Poor JD. I hope he gets help for his addiction, maybe he can be on Dr Drew next season.
Ryan Star is touring with David Cook, so he's doing pretty well. I'm happy for him, he's got a great voice. |

Just saw an updated interview with JD on global. And he sounds like he is dry/straight, and apparently given up the coke. He was a mess last time I saw an
interview with him.. aggghh. But he is talented and it sounds like he is putting some good music together, I hope he doesn't blow his chance again.
On other fronts, Suzy McNeil is getting plenty of airplay here in Vancouver, with her new cd. |
