It should be noted:
Rebeca de Alba is a Mexican woman who has been doing television host duties on some shows in Spain for a variety of years. She competed in the Senorita Mexico system in the 1980s (before it dissolved and got replaced by Nuestra Belleza de Mexico, now the official national beauty pageant). She also co-hosted the 2000 Miss World finals in London with Jerry Springer. But she is best known for being Ricky Martin's beard...I mean girlfriend. |

Seaguy, I agree that Aruba should be the one to watch. She certainly is striking in her pictures.
I don't know why people think this is a Latina centred pageant. It seems to me that they tend to favour Asians, like thailand and The Philippines. |

Phillipines/Indonesia are always praised above the rest pre-pageant, and are usually some of the most beautiful, but usually can't crack the top 10 if they can crack the top 15. Miss Universe is dominated by the americas (usually central america, carribbean, and USA/Canada) but have had a few come from nowhere (Miss Australia Jen Hawkins won in 2004....then in 2002 Miss Russia, but she gave up her crown to Panama) Miss World is usually dominated by Europe (Czech Republic is a huge one) and Miss Earth is usually always South Asian. |
