wow, that is a hell of alot of assumptions based on 1 hour of edited tv. My parents spent enormous amounts of time with me and my brother and sister. They never in my memory sat down a worked a puzzle with us. I had no idea how neglected we were until reading your post It is not Nana's house. Simple as that. I also have seen nothing to make me think Nana is treated as anything less than a family member. I must have missed the scenes where they tied her up in the basement only to be let out for chores.

it was only indirectly in response to your post as many have voiced similar opinions. Having social woprk experience and having worked for a Japanese family while in college I may be a bit biased. There is absolutely nothing to make me think that Nikko and the daughter are neglected. His comment was in direct relationship to Amela working the puzzle. He said his mother would never do that with him because she is busy doing other things. He didn't even allude to her not spending time with him. The hugs goodbye were very natural and not at all forced for the camera in my eyes. Nothing I have seen makes me think there is anything strained in the family dynamics. Nana seems fine in the household and would absolutely know her place. She seems traditional and would respect that it is Tammy's home. As in Tammy is the lady of the manor. When Tammy had to leave and asked Nana to have Nikko shower and eat .. She did it with very little authority. Nikko said he wasn't hungry and she said ok but shower. It is obvious this is not her role in the house. Tammy raises the children and Nana is their Grandma. Like most grandma's a little bit of a pushover. If it was her usual role Tammy would not have asked her to do it it would have been assumed and it would have been done. She was puzzled for a moment when he said he wasn't hungry, she had to take a second to think of how to respond. Again illustrating that this is not her normal role.



I am not a Tammy fan but I don't think she is anything like we've been shown.

got me. No I just watched past the editing. Watching her interaction, body language etc... it just didn't equal what I was seeing in the editing. The missing (just purchased coffee) convinced me they were setting her up to come off really poorly. The fact that Tammy wanted to buy a boat for the lake house for the family to enjoy and Amela wants a new car 2 seater no less, and a louie vitton handbag for the seat and pay off some credit card debt. Nothing wrong withy how she spends it but she is edited angelic and I bet many on this board think she would spend the money on college for the kids even though that is not what she said. (see my point)
