I think the speaker said "The letter that will change Abby's life for good", not "For the good". Actually, I think it was just "change her life", but either way. Carter breaks up with her via letter. In the original script, it was supposed to be a letter that somehow gets passed around the entire ER and starts the gossip mill going before Abby even finds out...but there was some talk that they changed that quite a bit, so I guess we'll see what happens. I used to like Abby, but she has become quite nasty lately. Carter helped her through so much (her abusive neighbor beating her up, her mothers bipolar stuff, her brother disappearing etc etc). And then she has the balls to freak out at him and say "I can't do this anymore" when he wants to go recover her exboyfriends body? what a psycho.

Last night's episode was one of the best in years (the ending was a bit cliche...not really sure I get why Carter would stay). The brutality of it was not as gratuitous as expected. |

KoM - thanks for starting a new ER thread.
Last night's episode will rank high on the long list of ER's best. Stunning shots of Kovac throughout (especially his bloodshot, weary, but always beautiful eyes). It was a nail-biter...I've been avoiding any websites about ER, because I was so depressed that they may have killed off Luka suddenly. And please, when will the writers give Carter good, stable love interest? |

I read Noah/Carter is taking 6 months of to spend with his wife and new baby so he is out of the ER scripts for a while.

I always thought they should have made Carter gay. It would have been the shortest leap of faith this show has ever taken, and it would surprise nobody, including his girlfriends on the show. He should have come out right after he got stabbed and Kellie Martin was killed.

Hmm, well if Carter came out as gay, who would he be partnered with? I think Peter Benton, obviously. When Benton was "mentoring" him, you could cut the sexual tension between them with a knife.
And Benton had as much trouble with women as Carter does. Too bad they never got them hooked up before Benton left. (Maybe Benton wouldn't have been so cranky all the time.)

 Come to think of it, the only gay character on the show is Weaver and they've only had two storylines involving her character in that respect - the one with the Psychiatrist and the one about having a baby with the firefighter. What's going on with that anyway - are they even still together? I remember the guy that plays the Priest in Carnivale was a 'love interest' for Weaver, but she turned him down because at that point she realized she was a lezbo. We need a 'gay Doctor' in the cast. And no, I don't mean Yoshi the nurse. |
