^ I have been wondering when their "Reporter" would start getting the brush off. Who the hell in their right ind would ever agree to an interview by the Daily Show?

Yes and the GOTCHA freeze frame was wonderous :)
I just wish there was more of Lewis Black... like every night. Eventually his jugular would pop but at least I'd be amused. |

What the hell is this thread doing on page twenty?
I know they've lost most of their awesome talent to the Report and network tv but the show still is the only thing out there that pokes fun at political fatcats and media dumbassery. That new correspondent that looks a littly like Puddy has got potential and the Cordry brothers should be back any day now. |

Is Cordry (the elder) coming back? That'd be awesome. If it hinges on the success of that sitcom he's on, should be back any day.
The correspondents are fairly strong again, though. Still miss Steve on Steve. |

I love John Oliver. He's the british guy for all of you. And Sam and Jason Jones are always great.
I'm always debating on what's the funniest show on T.V. I used to argue with people over Arrested Development, and The UK version of the office, etc, etc, but you know, the Daily Show is always fantastic. Even on off nights. |

Samantha Bee - SAM ON YOUR SIDE!
Everything this woman does is comedy gold. "Last year people won more than one billion dollars playing poker. And casinos made twenty-seven billion just by being around those people." "Is your ranch anywhere near the Hidden Valley?" "The e-voting revolution has been a bit of a nightmare. We've had reports of fraud, inaccuracy and accounting malfunctions coming in from at least 87 states." |

God i wish the audience for the show weren't such yelping suckups to Stewart that they let the guest talk if he's a conservative. Todays episode was painful to see that guy bringing up good points about how enforcing division and everytime Jon would make an equally good point there'd be some idiot leading a standing ovation like its the freaking State of the Union.

Ever notice they never do shots of the audience? There's a reason for that.

Republicans sure get testy when anyone challenges their idea of an authoritarian society. But I suppose that's the point. I really felt bad for Mr. Moustache. He got his ass kicked on every. singly. point. by a comedian. However, I do give Bolton props for even appearing on the show. |

McCain can kiss the 08 Presidency GOOD BYE | ||
|
Did anyone catch McCain on the Daily Show last night?
I thought he came across as anything BUT presidential. He looked like a mumbling idiot out there trying to repeat over and voer the Republican/George Bush/White House talking points. Hell, Jon Stewart looked more presidential and confidant and in-control than McCain did. |

Stewart was awesome. Just relentless with him and McCain just kept trying to talk over him and skirt around the harder questions. Stewart even called him out for it too.
But the highlite was 1st Term Bush debating 2nd Term Bush. Brilliant. |

McCain was a good man once.
Then Bush happened and he has been kind of on Bush's dick (err... or something like that)for sometime now. Seriously, if it's going to be a how much can we emulate Bush race, the repubs are going to get slaughtered in 08. Nobody wants 4-8 more years of this shit! |

Actually though McCain's performance is debatable, I couldn't stand the way Stewart handled the interview. He kept interrupting and talking over him. You can debate the man, but he is a senior senator and he warrants a little more respect. Both Stewart and Colbert do this, Colbert does it as part of his shtick, but I don't see the point of doing interviews if they're only five minutes long and you have to sacrifice manners for brevity.

Stewart was the one being talked over. McCain never shut up even as Stewart was trying to point out that he was completely evading the question Mc kept blathering on obviously trying to get the last word in.

I finally watched it yesterday. The way I viewed it -- both men were *trying* to keep the floor. They kept interrupting each other. It seemed to me that McCain wanted to get his talking points out there, Stewart wanted to ask questions. McCain wouldn't listen to the questions, but rather than give up, Stewart kept going. The end result -- they kept talking over each other.
I have seen Stewart cede the floor before, and even early in this interview he seemed to. But then it hit a point where he just didn't want to let McCain use the Daily Show as a forum to spit out talking points. And regardless of whatever my political affiliation is -- I respect the fact that Stewart wanted to make him answer real questions, not spit out prepared notes. |
