How can you say you love this show and have a pic of Sarah Silverman under your name...

sarah silverman prolly would be can you imagine how awesome shed be in it???
Put her in place of Jeniffer Coolidge. "What would you change about the world if you win Miss Universe?" "Well, I never liked blacks..." I would have pissed my pants! |

This shit is funny. NBC.
How do i know? I laughed out loud. Not once. Several times. I don't want to watch folks pick out a suitcase. I don't want to watch folks guess someone's job. Make me laugh. They did. |

I laughed.
I'll watch again. Hell, I actually thought the two who "won" were the funniest ones of their four packs (though Mo'nique was bleh until her second sketch). You shouldn't expect much from improv. It's good if you like cheap laughs, which I greatly enjoy. |

I am sorry, but Edie McClurg's job interview had me in tears!!!
Just the whole "You're very attractive", "I'd be working beneath you", and "slut" trifecta had me going...Just because she said it so prim and proper like. It was enjoyable and I was excited to know there would be a 2nd episode!!! ETA: Big rule of improv, NEVER negate what the person before you just said...which is why the game show skit sucked...but Mo'nique worked it out. |

I'll watch it again, I only saw the first episode online and will do the same thing for the second hour...is it always going to be against 24?
I liked it, disappointed that they did some of the same skits from the Australian version and didn't come up with their own. |

Jennifer Coolidge made me laugh, but besides that, no.

eh...
Love Edie McClugh and Brian Cranston who cut their teeth in the groundlings. But, put non improv trained folk in the show. Love Dave Foley. But the show is a one note joke, if nothing else is on, I watch, otherwise, it has no hold on me. |

I'm recording this for later, but I have it on now and I can't stop laughing at this retarded blonde hoochie in the front row who clearly doesn't get any of the jokes.

I did notice the dumb blonde bitch in the audience.
She looked like she wouldn't understand any reference unless it was covered in a Vogue article that had less than 50 words. |

Actually I give dumb blonde props because she is the only one with a believable reaction... someone in the editing room went super heavy on using laugh track filler and the audience reaction is equally edited... they just spliced in a bunch of audience members practically shitting their pants in hilarity over Monique saying, "I am the queen of.... Sheba." Horribly unfunny.

Quote: Me too. That was probably my favourite of the whole two hours. Watching Edie McClurg come onto a woman was pretty good...I smell a sitcom!!! I also REALLY liked Mo'nique during the game show skit EXCEPT (as everyone has mentioned) it would be like: *gameshow host asks her something* *Mo'nique answers* *I genuinely laugh out loud* "No, that's not right" uggghhhh.. Of course I own Queens of Comedy on dvd and watch it about every other month or so. |

Re: Thank God You're Here - PREMIERES TONIGHT!
Quote: Exactly. The regulars should have had to improv based on her comments, not just say, "No, you're wrong, here's what's supposed to happen". That would have been potentially funny. I thought rejecting another performer was a big no-no in improv, yet that's all they did to Monique. |

Yeah, the game show skit was complete bullshit. Mo'nique still kicked ass and got the trophy anyway, though, and that's the only skit that actually happened in, so I'll ignore it.
Quote: Doubt it, since Heroes will be back two weeks from now. Since they're bringing that shitfest Real Wedding Crashers after it, I don't know when it will be airing after next week. Don't think they'd replace Monday's DoND with it, after all. |

Re: Thank God You're Here - PREMIERES TONIGHT!

problem with this is that it's NOT IMPROV! (as everyone is pointing out on the Monique sketch). True improv is funny because the actors play off of each other and take the sketch to places that it isn't expected to go. But this show tries to keep each sketch on topic, and the other "actors" aren't really trying to have fun with it, they're just trying to advance the predetermined agenda for what the sketch is supposed to be about.
ergo, this show sucks. |

Everyone has such a different idea of what's funny and what's not. I thought Wayne Knight was pretty blah. Cmon, the whole thing about taking the pills rectally, and the "pickle" jokes? They were just the obvious things to say. Then, in the final skit he tried to reference the pickle joke again.
Jennifer was not funny at all, IMO. In her first skit she just seemed to say random things that popped into her head. In the final skit she did get a good laugh with "golden donut girl" but then totally disappeared after that. Joel had the "ancient hockey puck" line that got big laughs. Bryan was pretty easily the best, IMO. One other thing about these shows ... since the contestants are all celebrities, the judge is not ever going to be critical. He is always going to say how close it was no matter what. |

This show is nothing like what I thought. The commercials made it loook like the actors/comedians were entering a situation that was totally unexpected. This is just another stupid improv show. I hate improv shows.

This was dumb and I don't get why they was laughing so hard. It wasn't that funny.
