It's one thing to have the cast lead the show in a certain direction, and it's another to embarrass the guest star by nullifying their improv over completely irrelevant details... like when Monique got the contestants' name "wrong" and the Steve/Dave thing. Those details made NO difference whatsoever to the overall premise of the skits and just created awkward moments IMO. Essentially what the show was doing was testing the guests' ability to guess what was in a script they never saw. R
emember, Jennifer Coolidge worked on all those Christopher Guest movies.... which as I understand it, are based on a general outline scene by scene, but largely improvised.. so she is capable of doing this. Granted, the movies have the benefit of editing but I really think they need to hash out some things on this show if they want it to work.
