These ladies are like white trash with money. But they are making a TV show afterall...some of what they do is played up for the cameras and then edited for our pleasure, or displeasure. If they had a civil, polite evening we wouldn't be watching. |

i would think a 30 year old would know how to act in public without embarrassing herself or her benefactor. she is way beyond being a clubbing kid. unless she
has a substance abuse problem. they all seem to drink like fish, so i guess that is just acceptable behaviour for cota de caza whoras.

My point was that their behavior is low class, but it's not the most shocking behavior I've witnessed. My statement that "you people need to get out more" was a poor way to say that if you want to see really depraved behavior it is not on this show--it's out there--and what they did at their little party was tame in comparison. The housewives getting drunk and stupid at an elegant dinner party is not worthy of the disgust being delivered here, in my humble opinion. But to others it is, so to each his own. |

The housewives getting drunk and stupid at an elegant dinner party is not worthy of the disgust being delivered hereI think most people are disgusted by the fact that Tamra was using her son to ruin a woman's reputation in front of millions of people (not simply that they were drunk at an "elegant" party). Whether or not one thinks it was Gretchen's own fault for getting so drunk, what Tamra was trying to do was classless...even if it is something that happens all the time in the real world. I do agree that it is unreasonable to expect Gretchen to live in the hospital though.

I thought the segment with Tamra taking dining etiquette lessons was hysterical. If you don't have class even the best table manners in the world
won't disguise that fact. I was also gobsmacked that Stephina Tyler was actually the one who pointed out that it wasn't a very classy affair. Pot

Best scenes of the night were anything with Brian Malarckey (Yes, he's from Top Chef!) - and the final scene when Gretchen told Nugget that "I can't make out with you because I'm engaged to a ....very nice man. Hicc" Choice of words very telling!!! |

what was disgusting was the twat shot on the lovebus. what is abhorant is that you would invite someone into your home under the pretext of a friendly get
together - whether elegant or snacks - and do something like to them.
plus, my son is 23. I drink tequila. I like dinner parties. I am still trying to picture just how in the world I would approach my son about hitting on one of my friends to humiliate her in my own home. WORSE, would be what his reaction would be to me over that. he would be disgusted and not play along. |

Was Tamra the hag actually pushing Nugget and Gretchen together or did it just happen (or not) as an unintended consequence? I love that Gretchen is closer to
Nugget's age than she is to Tamra's. I wonder if the brain trust that is Tamra has figured that out yet, it must kill her.
Nugget looks like a ferret, there is simply not enough alcohol for me to hook up with him. |

So sue me, I liked what watching what Tamra did to Gretchen. Unseemly? Yes. Screwed up? Yes. Immoral? Yes. Evil? Yes. Fun to watch? YES. Which is why I really think the producers put Tamra up to this. I"m not saying she couldn't have come up with the idea on her own, but I really think they planted the seed. That blurb several pages back by a supposed anonymous insider suggests le Gretch is a wild one, and I think they (the producers) wanted her true side to be shown as much as Tamra did. |

It just seems like once they started flirting and touching each other, Tamra wouldn't have insisted on Gretchen staying the night if she really didn't
want anything else to happen between them. Lynn offered to drive her home but Tamra said no. I know that's not really actively encouraging something to
happen but it does seem suspicious to me.

I feel sorry for Gretchen, it's hell on survivors of close family/friends who have cancer and are dying. I've been through it and all of us were in
such denial all the time, not wanting to think the worst, but sometimes it hits you that maybe you will lose them and you just want to get out of your misery.

Ok, I reserved commenting because it was all so...mean. Lynn even became a little more endearing to me at the party, but I admit I did laugh when she and her
DH were at dinner discussing THEIR kids wouldn't be drinking. However, back to the party. Brian Malarkey of Top Chef wrote about it in a blog on bravo
and here's a quote from someone there. I thought it was very telling.
Now I knew Gretchen was extremely drunk and making a mess of herself on camera for the whole nation to see, but I didn't know that Tamra, Simon and Ryan were plotting it all along. I thought Tamra and Simon were really great to work with, but I must say I was not impressed with the way they went after Gretchen. Now I'm not going to say I didn't think she had it coming, but this was over the top and sending Ryan after her was just wrong on so many levels. I mentioned I was curious as to where they hid the camera - well they don't hide the cameras. Cameras are everywhere and Ryan loves them. The crew was following him all over as he pawed at the defenseless Gretchen, which reminded me of the Hyena (I was going to say Lion, but Ryan is much more of a Hyena) hunting the Gazelle. And for the record, he didn't make a single drink that night. PS Ok, so don't go ripping my mother apart here because it was MY actions, but I had a similar thing happen to me as Gretchen did by Tamra, and it was about 2 months after my dad died. I'd been "dating" (even though I wasn't allowed to date, he was the exception) a college boy that I'd known for YEARS. I guess he wanted to break up with me, so his friends were bringing me all kinds of liquor at a frat party and I ended up kissing one of his frat brothers when he disappeared for an hour. It turned really ugly, I was forced at 16 to walk home (several towns away)...everything you would expect to happen, as well as major humiliation. Many years later we saw each other again and I apologized, and I could tell by his response he had something to do with it. Prick. Grief is one insane mother on your mind and I give Gretchen a pass. Tamra I'd love to just speak to. Seriously. I believe Brian above though.
