On Anderson Cooper's show earlier this week, they had some really amazing looking clips of this. It looks like it's going to be great.

It looks good, but it better than mess around with my beloved Amazing Race's ratings.

I'm definitely recording this. We'll be watching TAR, but my daughter and I can watch it in the afternoon when she gets home from school. She loves this stuff.

They've shown the entire series already in Canada.
It's a great one to watch, and you can find the torrents out there. Definately a must see! |

Looking forward to this, and nice to see someone posting a thread about a Discovery offering.
TV Guide had a small article. Apparently we're in for some of the best natural footage ever shown on film. Not sure if some of you are confusing the movie with the TV series. The feature film Planet Earth comes out after the series airs, I think sometime next year. It follows three groups of animals and tells their story. The TV series is a bit broader than that, obviously, with 11 episodes. Though there's plenty of DVR conflicts when this airs tonight, as almost all Discovery premiers do, the series replays again in entirety after the first three episodes. Just set your DVR to catch the later shows. If you haven't seen it yet, also catch National Geographic's Galapagos. Aired last week, but replays a few times this week as well. Stunning footage, but just three hour long episodes. |

23 minutes in and this is one of the best things I've seen on television ever. And that is even taking in Weaver's horrid attempt at narration. I can't even imagine how could it would be if someone capable of narrating a story had the job. Still, this is phenomenal television.

It's like Lord of the Rings....with lions and tigers and bears and goats.
For the narrator....I would have gotten Linda Hunt, she's an excellent narrator, who's done lots of nature documentaries. |

Vampire deer???
My favorite was the ocean one, the scene with the shark whale was awesome, and the tornado of bait fish was cool. |

IMDB said it was David Attenborough who provided the original narration.
