Final Top 25 NCAAF Teams 2007-2008


1 LSU (6)
struggled greatly this year and just barely broke into the National Championship. Well, the tigers finally proved they belonged in the NC while playing yesterday. LSU wiped out the Ohio State buckeyes 38-24. I guess pollsters had been overrating the Big Ten and underrating the SEC again. LSU was the best football team of the year.

2 Kansas (3)
proved they belonged in the National Championship this year by beating the highly-touted Virginia Tech hokies in the Orange Bowl 24-21. Unfortunately for the jayhawks, the proof came too late. Kansas was the only one-loss team this year outside of Hawaii.

3 West Virginia (7)
surprised many by laying a smack-down on Big 12 champ Oklahoma 48-28 at the Fiesta Bowl, making lesbians across Appalachia very happy. Unfortunately this was one of the Big East's few bright spots concerning their bowl season.

4 Southern California (8)
Some call them USC. I don't. The trojans beat-up Illinois... but Illinois wouldn't give up. The Illini (racists) ended up losing by quite a lot. 49-17. If only someone knew beforehand that this was a mis-match, he or she could have warned everybody. And we might have watched USC play against Missouri or Oregon or even Michigan. But alas...

5 Oklahoma (1)
was anally-penetrated by West Virginia in the Fiesta Bowl, losing 28-48. What happened to the sooners? Despite having the best regular season record, Oklahoma proved they had no business in the national championship on the field.

6 Missouri (9)
Some call them Mizzou. I don't. The tigers humiliated Arkansas 38-7 at the Cotton Bowl. Wait, the Cotton Bowl...? Why wasn't Missouri in a BCS bowl??? It's just not fair. At least now we can definitively say Chase Daniel >>>>>> Darren McFadden.

7 Georgia (10)
shockingly beat Hawaii 41-10 at the Sugar Bowl. I say "shockingly" because I pissed myself laughing at the warriors and the trail of urine somehow found an electrical wire. If only someone was smart enough to look at Hawaii's Div 1AA record and had the strength to warn us. We might have saved ourselves from this embarrassment, and June Jones may have stayed at Hawaii.

8 Oregon (13)
went from top to bottom to top again, depending on when Dixon rode along. But the ducks didn't need Dixon to molest the South Florida bulls 56-21 at the Sun Bowl.

9 Virginia Tech (5)
hokies lost to a one-loss Kansas 21-24 at the Orange Bowl. Will our nation's wounds ever heal? Come to think of it, the ACC didn't fare too well this bowl season.

10 Florida (4)
had the most surprising loss of the bowl season, losing to Michigan 35-41. Does this mean Tim Tebow will be forced to return his Heisman? You'll be hearing the outcome of this game a lot over the next year as a counter-example, the one example that may be used to show the SEC isn't all that much better than the Big 10 if at all. The blames on you, gaytors!

11 Ohio State (2)
has fallen into a nasty pattern, always getting invited to the prom but always getting raped behind the bleechers. The buckeyes were woefully unprepared for the national championship, losing to LSU 24-38. It was like deja-vu all over again. OSU is 0-9 when it comes to playing SEC teams during the bowl season. Has God not heard OSU's prayers? A nation weeps.

12 Texas (25)
hooked their horns into Arizona State, beating the sun devils 52-34. (I prefer last year's holiday bowl.) It was both brutal and surprising.

13 Auburn (18)
burned Clemson 23-20 at the fil-A-A-Chick Bowl.

14 Arizona State (11)
The one game that made the PAC look bad! How dare you, Arizona State. How dare you lose to Texas, of all teams, 34-52 at the holiday bowl. Sad times.

15 Tennessee (17)
beat Wisconsin 21-17 at the Outback Bowl. That's... impressive.

16 Oregon State (20)
beat Maryland 21-14 at the Emerald Bowl. Oregon State is the best team this year to not make it to a real bowl.

17 BYU (22)
aka Bigot Young, barely beat UCLA 17-16 in the last seconds of the Las Vegas Bowl with a blocked kick in the last seconds of the game.

18 Kentucky (23)
beat Florida State 35-28 in the Music City Bowl. Too bad this isn't the 1990s. Eh, Bobby Bowden?

19 Cincinnati (15)
beat Southern Miss 31-21 in the What-Did-I-Ever-Do-To-Deserve-This Bowl.

20 South Florida (12)
Author's note: All teams from Florida sucked this year. Proof: Even South Florida went south to Oregon 21-56 at the Sun Bowl.

21 Michigan (NR)
Congratulations on being the saving grace for the Big 10 this year. Then again, you owed them! The Michigan wolverines pulled off the impossible at the Credit Card Bowl by beating Florida 41-35, giving Lloyd Carr the send-off he deserved. (With middle finger in the air.)

22 Clemson (14)
The clemson tigers lost to the auburn tigers, 20-23. Now only auburn is allowed the tiger moniker. Clemson is stuck with "the clemson clem." I like it.

23 Boston College (19)
beat Michigan State 24-21 at the Champs Sports Bowl.

24 Texas Tech (NR)
makes a comeback to beat Virginia 31-28 at the gator bowl.

25 Arkansas (24)
was embarrassed by Missouri at the Cotton Bowl, 38-7. On a more positive note, the success of Alabama, Kentucky, Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia and LSU reflect well on Arkansas.



Top Ten NCAAF Conferences


1 SOUTHEASTERN (1)
proved they were indeed the best football conference this bowl season.

2 PAC-10 (3)
had a very impressive bowl season, proving they were number two behind the SEC.

3 BIG 12 (4)
also had an impressive bowl season, proving they were one of the better BCS bowl conferences.

4 BIG EAST (2)
had an absolutely terrible bowl season. Outside of West Virginia, it really was unexpectedly embarrasing.

5 ATLANTIC COAST (5)
justified the low expectations of them this bowl season.

6 BIG TEN (6)
also justified the low expectations of them this bowl season and then some. The big ten have been majorly embarrassed for the seond year in a row. They are the worst BCS conference this year.

7 MOUNTAIN WEST (7)
proved they are the best non-BCS conference but still not in the BCS conferences' league.

8 I-A INDEPENDENTS (9)
had one bowl game this year: Navy vs. Utah and Navy almost won! I count that as a small victory.

9 WESTERN ATHLETIC (8)
has had a terrible year this year, and Hawaii's bomb didn't exactly help the WAC reputation Boise helped to build. But, then again, Boise lost too. Sad times for the WAC.

10 SOUTHERN (NR)
is actually a Div 1AA conference. Still better than the CUSA, Sun Belt and MAC though.
