The one thing that REALLY sucks in the sticks... no online groceries. I loved GroceryGateway.com in Toronto for the average stuff... Pusateri's for the in person fine foods. Sadly I have neither now.

This was definitely available back in 1999. What was that huge online grocery company that started all these TV commercials? It originated from Chicago again and they expanded nationwide. Few months later they went bankrupt.
Can't think of the company's name. |

YOU CAN BUY YOUR GROCERIES ON THE PHONE NOW!??!?! | ||
|
I just heard that if you can ever get use of your phone (having a party line is tough), you can call down to Andy's Market and buy some food for the table.

WebVan was the national chain I think.
My friend and I ran a grocery delivery service for tourists here at the beach. It was moderately successful but the logistics could be a nightmare. We had a four-hour window between check-out at 11am and check-in at 3pm to get all the deliveries done while at the same time 300,000 people were moving off the island after their vacation and 300,000 were moving on to start their vacation. |

Well SOME of us are from Maine where we do not have this.
Peapod is amazing. I knew of them last summer when I moved to Chicago but they don't deliver to Bridgeport or Pilsen. Yay Uptown!!! |

Quote: That's it! Thanks!!! I had a friend who moved from Chicago to CA to work on the Webvan expansion. He moved back to Chicago a few months later because it bombed. |

Quote: No, I think next will either be Lakeview or Lincoln Park, but I like my studio and the hotties in the building so it may be a few years before I move again. |

Quote: Webvan was way too good to be true. I used the shit out of it. I think they had 1/2 hour slots for timing where as Peapods were like 2 or 4 hours. I believe shipping was free if your bill was over $100 and their delivery men refused tips. It was awesome. Beer delivery, those were the days. |
