American Idol LOVES an ironic elimination. The British girl definitely would be eliminated on British Invasion week.

It's British music week on American Idol,
and each of the Top 5 will sing two songs of British origins. The
Beatles? The Rolling Stones? Oasis? We've got an early report on a
possible set list and — blimey! -- there are a few surprises in store.*
Who will have "London Calling"? And who won't get no "Satisfaction"? TVGuide.com assesses the song choices:
English boy band The Wanted calls Christina Aguilera a "total b----"
- After falling into the Bottom 3 last week, a position she's been in
four times this season, Hollie is probably in the most danger of
elimination this week if she doesn't deliver a strong, unforgettable
performance. Sadly, this week her unfortunate song choices could spell
doom for her. Hollie will first tackle John Lennon's "Imagine," which
could be too iconic, too overdone for her to shine through, despite her
pretty vocal skills. But if this song is too big for her, then her
second is too small: One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" is a
frothy, bouncy pop song that will do nothing for her credibility as a
- The country vixen has tackled rock confidently, and The Rolling
Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" and the attitude-heavy "Rumour
Has It" by Adele are well-suited for her to own the stage. Skylar is a
high-energy and instinctive performer, so we have no doubt she'll do
well. This late into the competition, however, she'll really have to
deliver something special in order to steal votes away from the other
- He proved last week that he's a genre chameleon and can deliver
mature restraint when needed, so although we know we'll probably enjoy
his take on The Beatles' bluesy "Oh! Darling," we're more excited to see
what he does with Keane's beautifully epic anthem "Somewhere Only We
Know," especially during the soaring crescendos. As we know though,
talent isn't enough to win votes, but if he plays this one right, then
he'll tug on those heartstrings and have people Googling this song.

- He's the only finalist left who has never fallen into the Bottom 3,
and now that the young girls don't have to split their votes between him
and Colton Dixon,
he's pretty much guaranteed a ride into the finals. This week, he's
chosen two songs that will show off his signature growling and
guitar-playing. Mumford & Sons' "White Blank Page" will have J.Lo
criticizing him about choosing a song that not many know, but he'll
probably pull it off well. The Animals' "House of the Rising Sun" also
suits his style, but he'll need to be careful not to fall into a karaoke
parody because of the song's dramatic elements.
- Ever since winning the judge's save -- the only time she fell into
the Bottom 3 -- Jessica has been kept safe by her fans. They ought to be
pleased by her song choices this week because Jessie J's "Domino" will
play to her dance and pop side, while Joss Stone's soulful "You Had Me"
will bring out her alter ego Bebe Chez. But it remains to be seen if
this 16-year-old will be able to bring out the angst and bitterness
needed for this angry tell-off song.
What do you think of the song choices? Who do you think is in danger? Who do you think is safe?
American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7c on Fox.
*The show recently announced that the finalists will now be
singing a British song in addition to one from the '60s, so the
previously reported set list is subject to change.
