There's not many people available to help me at the moment though, due to irl stuff. So I may not be able to upload them as frequently as before, but I'll try to get them done on a somewhat regular basis. :-)

Always had a soft spot for it!!! <3 @raceguy: The reason that I think they didn't pick Eastern European countries yet is, I think, they generally have less recognition/ resounding, if you know what I mean. It's not that they're not appealing, some definitely very much are, and some cities there are veritable pearls. ;-) However for the Dutch series applies: ever since we've been having celeb seasons, we're doing outside Europe. That, I believe, has a lot to do with general appeal.. The idea of adventure in a far away land, dealing with the culture, the language etc. Last year panned out differently because they had intended to make a combination of Southern Spain and Morocco. Due to the Arabic Spring and all the turmoil in Northern Africa that arose as a consequence of it, they decided to improvise and go to Iceland instead. Series 12 was frought for difficulties wrt destinations though, as some gutter press journalist got hold of info they (contestants and crew) were off to Iceland, so they had to improvise even on location since the planned locations in part were not feasible due to the leak... At any rate, for us, being 'Europeans' (whatever that means) and reaching for the bigger audience tapping into their sense of adventure in a far away destination, I don't think them landing on Budapest or Nice would be very exciting. Hence my earlier reluctance and retinence about the official press release about filming being in France (as a smokescreen since the filming was still ongoing obviously). So as much as I like several Eastern European countries, and I'm sure good adventures can be had there, it just doesn't really 'fit the bill' I think - it doesn't to me either even though I can definitely see the appeal .. I still prefer seeing the series taking place in a wide variety of countries and cultures because I think it adds to the diversity of this series as well (as do different selections of contestants, challenges etc - the whole package..) to keep things interesting. :) Last Edited By: Jazzzed 09/19/12 08:54 PM. They did start one series in Northern Ireland didn't they? As far as I know they haven't been to Africa before though. Russia or maybe China might be a viable candidate in the future. Looking forward to this, when does it start?

I noticed there was tons of cross imagery in each episode, and I remember being shown Hadewych crossing herself during one of the early tests, so I figured this was a clue. Totally blinded me. Should have remembered that they sometimes throw in clues pointing towards the winner to throw people off. Is it common for the Dutch editors to steal so much music? I heard the Game of Thrones theme and one of the tracks from the Tron: Legacy OST during the season which made me laugh. Looking forward to the next season. Art's still hosting? YES!

I'm glad you enjoyed it :-) Yes, the editting definitely has a job all it's own and red herrings will be put in there to deflect from the Mole. In fact I often come up with (I think..) more creative Mole clues than the production does itself, either to the Mole or otherwise usually one of the finalists.. Well I can't say if it's necessarily true for all Dutch tv shows, but for the Mole, yes they use a lot of music from movies and other famous music too. And yes, Art will be hosting the new season in South Africa too. ;-)
