Posts: 351 12/30/11 09:56 AM Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Ok I'm back with probably the last update before episode 1, in terms of footage anyway I think.� This is the promo of the Mole as it airs on Dutch tv now, with footage of the first challenge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdBSfs9SQTs - It would seem the contestants are all dropped individually and have a 3 hour time limit to find the destination they are given on a photograph. They seem not to be in touch with eachother. (Which would be a perfect Mole opportunity if that is the case imo ;-)) Two more things: - Apparently episode 1 is 10 minutes longer than usual. I wonder why that is, perhaps some sort of twist?? - According to the Avro tv guide there will be 11 episodes this year too instead of the usual 10!� Still awaiting more confirmation on that, but if that's true, that would be great obviously!!!� Edit: Why do I sometimes get 'no results found' when I search for a youtube video that I have recently uploaded?? :-( Last Edited By: Jazzzed 12/30/11 10:45 PM. I can't think of any US reality show that does that. It really helps fuel speculation though. Based on a bit of speculation and a lot of complete guessing, I ruled several people out and decided that Marion is the mole. patiently awaits her elimination in episode 1 Edit: If you're searching for the videos to embed them, you can add it from HTML using the code given on youtube (making sure the "use old embed code" box is checked). Haha thanx a lot for the tip I'll try that next time! Somehow it does seem to work though if I come back later and edit the post for some reason, not sure why.. I guess since this is a Mole forum it's bound to sabotage and have some of its mysteries remain mysteries forever.. ;-) It's very interesting that you ruled out several people and decided on Marion. I personally do think she will be an early boot yes, perhaps even the first. But things can be deceptive in interviews for sure so I could be completely off the mark wrt her... If she plays her cards well who knows she could do well - she has the mind set for it (being a writer of (psychological) thrillers.. ) Only two more days for us now (sorry a little longer for you guys before we're done subbing the lot).. but it'll be there soon!! ;-) We got another interview with the contestants in the mail today but I think you guys probably have had enough preshow hype. Also, I think I'd better give my hands a rest if I don't want to end up with carpal tunnel syndrome after this weekend ;-) I'll be back!!!

Not crazy about the location, but other than that it was a pretty good episode. First impression is that William in the mole. From messing up that third challenge big time, to just acting like a moron yet claiming to know who the mole is, there is definitely something up with this guy. Marteen would be the worst mole ever. Don't think it's Anne-Marie or Dio either. Frits made the most sense until Marions elimination, but I'm not crossing him off my list just yet. Oh and I don't like the fact that Art knows who the mole is. Could have really done that whole first sequence differently.

Some of the former hosts (like Angela and Pieter Jan) preferred knowing because they felt it made them a better host. Karel preferred not to know. I guess it all depends on the person really. I kind of liked that first sequence as it was filmed like 'through the eyes of the Mole' - it was necessary to understand why it was 2 hours instead of 3. Thought it made for a change. ;-) In her diary/ exit interview Marion said she made the test incredibly fast and she thought she made a lot of mistakes. It has happened before that people suspecting the Mole as one of their lead suspects, were the first eliminated after all, a lot of it comes down to luck really. Hard to tell. Also, we don't know much about who suspects whom at this point, we got to hear suspicions of just a few people. ;-) As for location, Iceland looks amazing but I would have preferred a more diverse setting too. It's not going to be the Americas again, I can't see them doing the Middle East again (it'd make the season feel too similar to 2009's), the rest of Asia and Australia are too far away to be logical, which pretty much just leaves southern Europe and Africa. There hasn't been a fully European season since 2002 in Portugal, and Africa's never been done, so they're both likely to be huge surprises. I think Africa's more likely if they're keeping it a big secret, and given the distance from Iceland and the issues with safety in the region the most logical location is Morocco.

There's been some speculation going on about this yes. ;-) I agree that an arab country would be too similar to Series 9 (Ireland - Jordan). I think the caribbean would be great but indeed probably too much like last series. America and Canada are difficult ito video licensing, besides they have been to Canada before (and had trouble at times because of prohibitions for filming which since 9-11 will be even a lot more strict I think). Africa is possible but they've always maintained that they wouldn't go there due to security issues and difficulties with infrastructure. Northern Africa was very instable at the time plus would be like Jordan probably. I think Marocco's an option. Someone mentioned Denmark due to the connection with Iceland but I personally think there's not enough contrast, and I wouldn't typify it as 'sunny' necessarily. Someone else mentioned Sicily. Personally I would love that, been there a few years ago and it has a lot to offer! (great nature, lots of culture, beautiful cities/ towns.. Plus there is the volcanic connection - both volcanic islands, very different from eachother yet both had a Norman/ Viking connection!). Otherwise maybe Madeira, that would also be in the range I think. :-)

Gives the sunny climate and a full European season without actually using continental Europe, it's safe, it's different enough to contrast with Iceland without being like Jordan, and a version's already filmed there in the past?

Posts: 3987 01/08/12 04:04 PM Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Great first episode! I have not seen any Mole series, real or fanmade, in ages. This was really refreshing. Top 3 suspects: Spoiler [+] 1. Liesbeth-She is under the radar. She is sweet, innocent-seeming, and a contrast to the previous mole. She didn't go anywhere in the first mission and just stayed and played with rocks the whole time. In the glacier mission, she didn't find the container she was supposed to find. In the exemption one, she got shot. I believe she took a central position behind the hay bales, so if someone else had wanted cover, they would be in a good position to get shot as well (like Maarten was). 2. Dio-He seems just unaware and gullible. However, I think that is his cover. In the glacier mission, he nearly didn't even find his spot because he can't count. The exemption mission was awful for him too. William deciding to look in the hay for jokers is definitely suspicious, but Dio chose to go along with it. Dio could've been on Marit (what the fuck was she doing anyways?) and gotten her down. Instead, he joined William in the quest for imaginary jokers and let Marit have a free walk to the end. 3. Tim-He is calm and has gotten himself into good graces with someone. In the first mission, he didn't even know that the picture was actually supposed to be used for something as opposed to being just a pretty picture. In the exemption mission, he got to the end and got to keep his exemption, not adding money to the pot.

As for Liesbeth, there's the whole scouring the beach thing (and picking up and throwing empty bottles - LITTERBUG!) and I thought her "getting grazed in the arm" in the bridge challenge was kinda suspicious. I like the location, too. I know this complaint has been made to death, but it's really a shame Survivor would never consider a place like this just because they won't get women in bikinis and guys without shirts. It was a great first episode, though I might watch it again because I spent most of it trying to match names with faces. I still can't tell Hadewych and Marit apart.

Awww I didn't have the heart to tell you before.. Someone has to be first and she clearly overanalized judging by her diary/ exit interview. Seemed like a nice person though, but I do think the other contestants may be more entertaining to watch in a way. I really do like the beautiful landscapes out there too looks so pristine out there! I do think it will be nice if they're going some place else though for variety :-) As for keeping Hadewych and Marit apart.. Hadewych's the one who's always wearing her long blond hair in a braid. If my hunch is correct I'm thinking Hadewych is not someone that will make it very far, they're not investing in her too much and she's a little too 'sweet' to play the game harshly. Unless of course she's the mole.

My favorite scene was with Marit, William and Dio on the bridge. I guessed it was Marit's strategy to 'play dead' and walk to the end - apparently it wasn't, but it worked out like that anyway! As for my suspects... I was initially suspicious of Frits for two reasons. One, in the first task when he left his suitcase to talk to Anne-Marie, and then had to walk back to it. That's classic Mole time wasting behavior. Two, how it was set up where he found the exemptions. The mole could indeed assign that location last for himself, find the exemptions and ensure they came into play for the third task. However... apparently Marion had this exact same thought and was executed. Which makes me think Frits is not the mole. That leaves my other suspect, Marit. In finding the containers, she hung around hers, and suggested that the others take additional containers from her grouping. That was a sure-fire way to fuck the task up. It's only ep1, but for now she's my pick.
