Which Survivor season was your first? |

RavuRules made an interesting point about perspective concerning individual Survivor seasons in another thread and it got me thinking. I happen to be one of the ones who started with the first episode of Borneo which i still consider the best of the best. (In most ways) I'm curious as to which season YOU started with and especially your thoughts on the previous outings you missed when you got around to viewing them.

Australia Episode One.
Thought the show was okay but quickly got hooked. I loved Elisabeth. |

Borneo, episode 3. My dad wanted to watch it. Hooked from the start, and Gervase was my instant favorite.

Borneo episode 3 as well. I kinda understood why Stacy was mad, but the 2 previous eps really helped with context.

Looks like we have a trend here to start out. My feeling is the first four seasons constitute Surviver's heyday that hasn't been matched since. Sure some seasons were really good -PI and the Yul Ozzy showdown come to mind, but the rest seemed like the magic was gone. I still watch religiously but it feels more like a sense of duty then anything else. Of course each season still brings those moments that still make it worthwhile.

Didn't really start watching till Outback. Watched religiously through Marquesas. Gave up halfway through Thailand, and thus didn't watch Amazon at all. PI brought me back, but I skipped over much of All-Stars and didn't start watching regularly again until Palau (which is definitely my favorite post-ASS season).

Season One Finale episode!!! I didn't know what was going on but thought Sue Hawk's speech was awesome.. Been hooked ever since

Episode 1 of Borneo.
My eighth grade social studies teacher brought it up the next day in class, and suggested everybody should watch it ... it became a weekly event in class to analyze the show in a social context the day after each episode. I miss when Survivor used to be a big deal. |

Although I never really enjoyed the show until Outback episode 1. After that episode I was taping the show for other people to see the next episode. |
