Why are you taking this personally PT? Panurge mentioned my constant use of "I" and "my" and I was explaining why I word things is such a way. I wasn't saying people are arrogant when they don't do it that way. I just didn't find any reason for him to be critical of my way of speaking. At this point, I swear some of you guys have triggers, whenever you see my name. It's like an automatic reflex at this point, "Ravu is probably implying something bad about me. Must respond". Some of you guys keep (mis)reading into things, like the whole racist thing

Okay, lets get this straight with some fact-based argumentation. Who started this? Who responded to my neutral post with a very critical response, with frequent "note to Ravu". It seemed many of the points were weirdly addressed to me, as some sort of counter-argument to an imagined debate we might have in the future. Like, panurge was anticipating how I might respond to his comments, even though that's not how I would've responded. I mean, maybe it's just me, but it seemed like an "attack" to me, so I felt I was defending myself. I try not to attack people (first) ever, so I do find that claim to be pretty offensive PT. Please understand my shortness with panurge46 though given our rather extensive debating history, where HE initiated the general lack of respect in the 1st place. You can see for yourself in the WA thread, although I suspect and expect you wouldn't care that much to check it out

Honestly, I don't know if that POV is so "obvious," because of your writing style. It's hard to tell when you're being sarcastic and when you're serious. Like when you call Thailand "dull and predictable," you have left no room for an alternative POV if you take your statement absolutely literally. You have said that people either like it or dislike it due to being "dull and predictable," but given than both words have a negative connotation, you've just slanted reality in the direction that you personally look at it. Now, in this case, I happen to agree with you, but it still doesn't change the fact that it's just your POV and my POV. Someone like Dr. Will obviously wouldn't agree

I'm impressed PT =). Most high schoolers don't seem to learn philosophy. But I definitely disagree that ontology and epistemology are "not the least bit applicable in a practical debate". I consider them THE most important considerations, given the structure of logic and the social construction of knowledge. If you notice, most of my arguments often are rooted in these structural considerations which contextualize the details of debates (which most people focus on)

Well yeah, I know that. I just wanted people to be aware of it in case they didn't know (sometimes it's hard to tell). Didn't mean to insult your intelligence or preach. 1 thing that bugs me are people who think their opinion is FACT and the tone and arrogance with which they talk often makes me think they don't understand such concepts. I mean, I know people are opinionated, and Sucks is the forum for it, but that's just my personal pet peeve

I don't know how to explain it. Some people "simply state" opinions, but others aggressively assert them. There are people who post whose opinions I don't agree with, but who can phrase it in a reasonable manner. Then there are others who do it like they're hijacking reality and it bugs

Fair enough. I am short with Panurge46, but I mean, it goes both ways, and I didn't start this dynamic. I mean, ideally, I'd rise above it. However, in life, I've tried that approach, and when I've been the nice guy, I just ended up looking like a tool to the bastards. I've learned that when people disrespect you, then you stand up for yourself and treat them like trash. By the way, I've tried multiple times to be fair and get our "relationship" to be respectful and reasonable, but it always devolves. Like what am I supposed to do?

I didn't have a problem with his points. Like I said, Thailand is like my 2nd least favorite season, and I pretty much agreed with the "reasons" that Thailand sucked. However, it didn't necessarily refute my earlier statement in my eyes, nor that our POV is any more better or real than a Thailand-lover's. Again, this like politics and religion

I didn't appreciate the unnecessary and frequent name-dropping in that particular post. He was associating me with lame reasonings which I never gave or said. He wouldn't respond like that to just anyone. It's because it's ME and we've argued like losers in the WA thread for months now. I don't expect an objective POV from you though PT, given that you guys have sort of played the same role (staunch adversary) in relation to our debates. Maybe I should say "nemesis" haha (get it PT?)

(b) Only intellectually insecure people do that

I mean, I think saying "ontology" is more brief than saying "a branch of philosophy that investigates the origin, nature, methods, and limits of human knowledge". I don't know if there's a more common or smaller word to capture that meaning. So I guess I'd get condemned (by my fans) either way

I didn't say it doesn't make sense. I agree with panurge46's points on why he didn't like the season, and I understand it's unpopularity. I just wanted to point out that most of these opinions are emotionally-driven despite any kind of rational argument used to bolster it. Opinions are formed with both emotion and rationality, and when people are posting about their favorite seasons or least favorite seasons just to hear themselves talk (as PT mentioned), it still doesn't change the fact that there is a political element involved. So when someone spreads negativity by being critical about a season (which is of course their right), they should expect that negative energy to bite them in the ass by affecting someone else who does like it, and to get criticized in turn (which is also the other individual's right)

Okay, I guess this was a misunderstanding on both parties then. I certainly didn't mean to imply a tone of you guys don't know why you like a season. I just wanted to make sure people were aware of some hidden biases of why they might like the other seasons which a list of logical points probably wouldn't capture

I dunno. She has the biggest love thread here @ Sucks lol. I actually feel like part of the majority on this one lol. Regardless of others' opinions though; she is a fantastic trainwreck, she has a positive attitude which I appreciate, and she has helped make the season, and absolutely I love her for it
