If I want to see a show where the contestants get harassed and humiliated, I'll watch Fear Factor. Prince Albert: Sudden shift to how lazy he is. Plus being a Challenge hog doesn't look to good for his future. He'll get canned pretty soon. Coach: Really has this thing in the bag. He didn't need Cochran or Edna to play a Low Road Game. He can sweep with Invisible Rick and Psycho Brandon. Edna: Hiding up Coach's butt didn't work. She's going to get dumped next. Sophie: The last pleasant person left in the game. That pretty much guaranteed she ain't winning this Turd cuz... THIS SEASON IS SUCKING HARDER THAN A CRACK WHORE DURING FLEET WEEK! The whole Cochran Schwang Wang Wang makes me think Edna is going to beat Ozzy at Redemption Island, so that whole Arc gets pissed upon. Coach wins unanimously and you don't care. You have to endure another Season of Survivor with a Hantz in it an one even more despicable than Russell. This Season isn't just bad. It's Jaws IV: The Revenge Bad. This show is so bad it is actually PUNISHING you for watching it. You keep thinking "It can't be this bad." But never before tonight have I begun to HATE it. Cochran is going down as one of the worst players in Survivor History. And using the facts that he is such a big Survivor Geek and a really intelligent guy as WEAPONS against him to make fun of how he played and make him look like a gigantic dipshit on national television when he cares so much about the Game and its History makes me SICK.

Seriously, sunsawed -- this is all a surprise? You didn't get the hint that the whole "mastermind" thing was irony when John was running around like the court jester (his description of himself in Survivor) dressed as a caricature of Coach (who is himself a caricature, so it was more like a caricature of a caricature) back in episode 9? Or when he started doing Coach Chi with Coach? Honestly, I don't think this turn of events should be shocking at this point.

Albert has been portrayed as wanting to make a big move and wanting to flip the game. After watching last night's show...and Albert's gesture to Cockroach with the reward...and Albert telling Cockroach he would once again flip the game has got me wondering if it's real. Either Albert is the worst game flipper in Survivor history, or more likely, it's all a charade on Albert's part. He's only pretending to want to flip. If he makes F3...and tries to emphasize his willingness to flip to win Savaii votes, it could easily backfire on him. If he faces Coach and/or Sophie at FTC, they will not sit there and let him make that case without challenging it. Albert has no chance of winning Upolo votes at FTC against Coach and Sophie. He says he's playing the social game. What's he doing? My answer...fake flipping to win Savaii votes. If Savaii smells insincerity on his part....he gets zero votes at FTC. Of course, if Ozzy makes F3, then all of Albert's posturing will count for nothing anyway.

As for the real reason Coach voted out Cockroach...Rick looked too good at the Immunity challenge to dump. He almost won. Don't think that wasn't noticed. And how about all the time they spent showing Upolo talking about the truel after Ozzy won...oh wait...it got zero coverage. I guess Upolo's not concerned...right? Laugh

I'm betting that Coach is afraid of Ozzy and wants to keep strong players in the game unless Ozzy loses a duel. That's the real reason he can't take his goats to F3. That why Coach dumped Cockroach...Coach and Albert and Sophie figured that Rick was better in challenges than the little roach and no one wants Ozzy to make the F3. No one. So all the happy talk with and about Cockroach at & before TC was simply an attempt by Coach and Albert to contend for the roach's jury vote. Nothing more.

Sun - Love your posts but....You keep ignoring the elephant in the room. Ozzy.

Sure it's a long shot because he has to win a few more RI duels (against arguably a couple of the weakest players to ever be in the game) and he has to come back and then win two more challenges to get to the final three BUT who is left that can actually beat him?

Albert is a gym jock. Rocks the muscles but has not exhibited any real athletic abilities. Sure he won last night, the toss and sling shot challenge but what about the challenges going forward? (FYI, I found it interesting that the challenge Albert won, was the only IC that Ozzy did not.... but it means that it won't reappear in the game.) He wasn't in the running for the teeter-totter rice challenge which required balance.

Sophie - Won the teeter-totter challenge but how is she going to do in any challenges that require strength and balance? And look who she was competing with.... not exactly the cream of the crop as the strongest players against her were Brandon and Whitney.

Coach - Well in three seasons he has won 1 individual IC. Don't make me laugh.

Rick - He showed up against Sophie and Albert in the last challenge but do you really think he can "out physical" Ozzy?

Everyone, including remaining players continue to ignore Ozzy and his potential return. Recall what Cockroach said last night, "What are you going to do if Edna wins IC?" Now replace Edna's name with Ozzy.

Hard road for Ozzy? Yes. But can he do it? Definitely

Yeah...why did the producers/editors play him up so much when they knew he was going to fail? Like I said last week...trying to make a silk purse out of this sow's ear of a season. It's almost like they thought if they really, really made us feel for him, we wouldn't be so disparaging when he failed. Make him likable and we wouldn't dump on him as such a big dummy. Sophie called Cockroach's betrayal really stupid...but it was also cowardly and, in a sense, dream like...believing in yourself with no evidence to support that belief. I once played a chess match with someone who was so afraid to make a move that they basically sacrificed everything. Everything. All their pieces. No attack. No counter attack. The point of chess is to check mate the other players king. If you can do it without taking any of the other players pieces, or very few, that's fine. Very difficult, but fine. How many times do you have a match where you essentially take all of their pieces while losing barely any of your own? For every move on my part, the counter move was to sacrifice a piece. That is like the game that Cockroach played. A game of the moment. Get another 3 days with no thought to the future or how his play would be viewed. No thought to winning...just don't lose...now. The key piece missing from Cockroach's game plan: no thought to how others would view his actions. No thought to what other players wanted. It was all about him. His worst characteristic is not his inability to do well in challenges...it's his inability to put himself in someone else's shoes.

Cockroach was entertainment value (barely) and nothing more. He provided the diversion from what was really happening. Every season the producers sacrifice strategy sessions and player development to focus on the one player who is "out there." And they do it because people love to watch a train wreck. This year it was a toss up between Cockroach and Brandon. We now see that the recap episode was actually Cockroach's swan song. LOL

Now the focus will be on Brandon while the producers neglect to show us any moves by Sophie, Rick, Albert or Edna. When Brandon finally goes, we will then finally be able to see the end game.

rower - Lets dont forget, that Ozzy is in great shape too! He is eating a lot, he doesnt have to share. He doesnt have to make any chores, becouse he doesnt have to impress anyone, he doesnt have to stress about strategy. All he does is catching fish, collecting some wood and thats it. For the rest of the day, he can rest. Also, he is having a shelter for himself plus he is used to sleep outside, so he probably sleeps like a baby.

Players in the game are in much worse condition. They have only small amount of rice left, if any, so their portions are probably very tiny. They can catch only few fish (becouse they are worse firshermen /women plus as Ozzy explained - his beach has a lot more fish) and we know that for few days they didnt catch any. Plus they have to share fish between 6 people! There was only one food reward post merge, up till this point! From insider video we know, that they have shelter only for two people (if they didnt improved since, which would cost them more energy), plus there is posibility that some of them are still not able to sleep well on the ground. They have to make chores, if they dont want to be seen as lazy (eg: whole Prince Albert thing). They are stressed about strategy and tribal councils. They have to deal with different types of personalities and keep their frustration for themselves.

So by the time Ozzy gets back into the game (if he really does), he will be in great condition, competing against bunch of totally exhausted individuals. Plus he wont have to rely solely on challenges, there is still a chance, that he will be able to make some strategic move, if he will come back.

Another thing: Who he has to beat at redemption island? Definitelly Cochran and then? I belive, that there is big possibility, that we can expect Edna, Brandon or Rick to be voted out before final episode (two of them, right?). Non of them is very capable in challenges. And when / if he gets back into the game? Coach is usually pretty medicore. Sophie has something in her, but as I said before, she will have much lower stamina, then Ozzy. Same case of Albert. Plus lets dont forget that Ozzy is well known for being proven challenge beast. He has everything except raw power and I doubt we will see some heavy lifting between now and the end of the season.

So yes, I belive, that it is very plausible, that Ozzy will go far. But anything is possible. His edit tends to suggest otherwise.

EDIT: And I belive, that beside Cochrans enterteinment value he was important becouse we were supose to see, how Coach changed the course of whole game, thanks to his capabillity of swaying Cochran.

^^^ Two things you have wrong. The tribes got no rice this year -- just the fishing gear. And there has always been a 2nd shelter at Savai'i -- what they showed in the recap was the "cabana" or "Barbie Shack" (as they called it) where Keith, Whitney & John slept. It is where everyone from Upolu slept in the scene in the recap where Rick is making fun of Ozzy for sleeping next to the fire (and they cut to Ozzy -- who gave up his place in the "real" shelter where Rick was -- sleeping on the sand by the fire).

About Ozzy's edit. If anything, he is being shown as "owning" his time on RI, winning all challenges thus far handily and thriving where others (Christine, Matt) were broken down and miserable. We have shots of him standing atop a palm tree, not once but twice, we have beautiful shots of his impressive fishing, we have him saying on a number of occasions that this is they way he is playing "his" game, etc., etc, etc.

Now contrast Ozzy's edit to the remaining players. Coach has been shown in the past two weeks, to be a hypocrite, a bully, a liar all the while "praying to God." He has been likened to Charles Manson, Jim Jones and the Mafia all groups that murdered and killed. And you think that Ozzy's edit is bad. You must not be watching the same show. LOL

As to Cockroach being shown to emphasize the big "game changer" move Coach made.... Well if Coach comes up empty handed at the end because his tribe sees through his lies, his hypocrisy, his BS then his swaying Cockroach means zilch. ;-)

Nope Cockroach said it himself, when he called himself the Court Jester while prancing around in Coach's jacket.... he was and is nothing more.

So mini rant here: I understand that some of these people may not be fans of survivor, but a rational human would at least try to think a few steps ahead, yes? I'm still flabbergasted when players wait until the merge or post merge to suddenly realize they need an end game strategy. You cannot just worry about getting to the merge. You must at least *think* about what to do after your tribe is at the "turning on each other" phase. Edna in particular floored me. Of course this happens every season with someone, but for some reason she in particular tripped my trigger last night. You had PROOF POSITIVE that you were in sixth place a whole bunch of weeks ago when Brandon told you that you were the sixth in his alliance and that is why he was voting Mikayla off. Didja not believe him? She just seemed so shocked, SHOCKED that she was to go right after John.

Also, Albert is so gone. No way he makes F3. As soon as someone gets called out on camera for being lazy, it is over. He may not go this week since there is apparently some question over a Brandon meltdown, but he'll go soon. And I don't think he'll win any more ICs either. Other than slingshotting, he's been fairly useless in challenges.

In this week's Secret Scene Sophie shared her endgame. It's not very good, which disappoints me. She's going to wait until the final TC and then dazzle them with her brilliant strategy. Whatever that is, she didn't share it.

Edna - the term dumb as dirt comes to mind..... You can say a lot of things about Brandon but to just ignore what he tells you? And then be shocked? Makes you wonder just how much of Coach's garbage she has been buying.

Albert - I've said all along he has a gym bod i.e. I can seriously see him "pumping up" in a gym somewhere flexing his pecs and that's it. It is a long road from that to being any type of athlete. And his edit. Rick was right .... Albert is totally a Princess. The only reason he won last night was because all the big challengers have been taken out of the game.... for now.

Sophie - I like the girls moxie but end game strategy.... None. Just get to final five?   What ya gonna do?

It was funny because you could almost see light bulbs go on last night when JP mentioned that if you are numbers 6 and 7 in a seven person alliance, you need to find out who 4 and 5 are so that you can make a move. The looks said it all..... Nobody left on the tribe (unless you count Edna) knows what their number is. Albert/Sophie THINK they are #2 and #3. But are they really?   Even Coach has not really come out and said who is final three are.  They have been so intent on getting to final five did they all forget that at this point someone of the five would be on the bottom..... Who is it?   I get a hinky feeling that Rick is actually a lot higher on the 'ole U totem pole than some would believe. Could he be in a secret alliance with Coach? I think it's possible.

I'm with you on Edna -- in a way I don't blame her for not believing Brandon and OK, the Christine & Stacy boot TCs that was Christine & Stacey (2x) voting for her. But that Mikayla boot -- who did she think threw those other two (not Mikayla's) votes against her? On the one hand, I actually liked seeing Edna "playing" and showing some gumption last night (instead of just playing Coach's "little friend" GAG!) but on the other I was seriously, WTF, you for real girl?

Yeah, Albert isn't F3 --the absolute best he can hope for at this point is out at F4 (because of any potential Brandon melt down/Edna boot combo).

And I've wanted to like Sophie, because I do like how she isn't the typical "bikini model" they cast on this show & she isn't trying to be some ridiculous Femme Fatale, but the only strategy I've gotten from her (only on the insider clips, btw, they don't even bother to show it on the show itself -- I mean, she's the one who is responsible for Coach & Albert not voting for Rick & keeping John, right? Yet we saw none of that -- which can't be boding well for her "winning") isn't very impressive. Not quite as smart as she thinks she is and/or (like Fabio said when voting Brenda in Nicaragua): "You're a super cool girl, but this game isn't as easy as you think it is."

I think the reason no one else is given much of a story is that this season it's about how Coach isn't Rob. I think this whole season is about how Coach just can't close the deal. He even made a big deal about how he knows that he should take Edna and John to F3 and that his decision about last night's boot could be the difference between winning and losing. Rob didn't hesitate a minute when it came time to get rid of Grant but Coach just won't be able to pull the trigger. They are really giving Coach a terrible edit. I couldn't believe that scene last night where Coach was talking about how lazy Albert is and then even referred to him as "that boy." Some will consider me overly sensitive but I found that terribly offensive and border-line racist (if not flat out racist).

I really, really want to believe that Ozzy makes the F3. There is a wonderful clip up on CBS with Ozzy talking about how much he loves being on RI, how it is the best experience of his life. I rarely hear others say this, but he seems to have blossomed over the years. He is a confident, articulate speaker in his confessionals, there seems to be more depth to him. He still has his moments but his social game has improved. I found it actually touching in the preview for next week when he tells John he has a chance to beat him in the duel and I'm not offended that he boasts in a confessional that John has no chance to beat him. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't genuinely trying to comfort John (while lobbying for a jury vote), I'd be surprised if he isn't feeding him well on the island. I don't really think Ozzy is mean at heart, he is just incredibly inept at times.

I really do hope that Ozzy wins it all and I think he will if he makes F3. But I worry that there isn't more excitement coming from Probst about the winner. I am really hoping that the editors just think that Ozzy winning is less important than Coach losing.

About Sophie's edit: she is always "right" and/or the voice of the audience. "Coach makes me feel icky", "Brandon's scary", "Cochran made a dumb move". I'm not sure what it means, but it's a massive editing pattern at this point- she gets all of the confessionals that show her thinking independently.

Agreed, Kirblar. She isn't exactly the narrator, but she's something. The Truth? The Voice of Reason? What's Really Going On?

I just wish it translated into action a little more. If Albert is guilty of wanting to make a big move, but always too soon, then Sophie is guilty of making a move too late. For awhile I thought she might be our winner, but badly edited. Now I'm not so sure. She is smart though. In the secret scene she also said she had to deflect Albert and Coach when she won those immunities. She didn't want to make a big deal of it so she passed it off as just getting lucky that the two she won were things she was good at. I'm wondering if she didn't exactly give it her all in last night's TC. She knew she was safe from the vote. Albert winning put a big spotlight on him, not only because of the win but because he did the pandering move to give John his reward.

I agree with Kirblar & rats -- everything you two wrote about Sophie is all why I want to like her (and when I say "want to like" her I mean "like her as the winner" not that I dislike her personally), but just because she is "right" and the "voice of reason" isn't the same thing as her giving me a laid out endgame strategy of how she is winning and it is kind of late in the game for her to be doing it now (which she still hasn't) -- and have we ever had any winner who didn't have that? Two of our most recent UTR winners -- Fabio had a few "I'm just going to play it cool and let them back stab each other & snake my way to the win" and Natalie W had "I'm staying with Russel & making friends with the jury because no one is ever going to vote for him." (Paraphrasing on both, but that's the gist). And while she was smart to underplay her two IC wins in a row in the double TC episode with the likes of Coach on her tribe, the edit shouldn't have underplayed it too (they weren't even mentioned in the "previously on Survivor" on last night's episode or in the recap episode for that matter).

I'm not trying to get all "edit nazi" here, but really, what has Sophie given us about her endgame other than what the others are doing wrong and a little thing in episode 10 (that was more about why Albert was wrong) that she was going to make the choice that got her to the end but no reason why that was the choice that would get her to the end. Like rats says: she's better than narrator but what is she exactly? She could be the Crying Cassandra (to borrow from Greek mythology) -- cursed to always speak the truth but to have no one listen to her.

Just a note to Cochran's edit. I feel that he has been given a large edit solely for the fact that out of the last two seasons, he was one who actually made a move. Granted, it was the "wrong" move, yet it was at least a move, whereas everyone else seems to be edited to as not willing to change things up. I feel that the producers may have rewarded him for actually trying to improve his game, rather than just staying put?

I also agree that Sophie is the voice of reason, a lot of her EW inside clips show her explaining her strategy, reminds me of how Guatemala's Danni's strategy was all in the insider clips and not on the show.

If Albert is in the F3 we have pleanty of reasons for his edit to be a "why Albert loses" due to his work ethic around camp, false hopes given to the savaii, and general indecisiveness. Plus I feel that out of everyone left, no one would be too scared or too much in the "family" to not tear him apart at FTC.

I don't find your take on the "that boy" overly-sensitive at all. It is a well known way to emasculate black men (I know, Albert is Cuban, which is mixed with native islanders, etc -- but to Coach -- with his history toward black players -- Albert is black). His "that boy" comment proved it, to me.

I really want Ozzy to make F3 too -- only thing that can save this season, IMO. If you really want to see great clips about Ozzy -- go watch Dawn's "We Can't Lose" (whole thing is about 1:40 seconds) and her "Day After" (specifically around mark 3:20). She talks about how at first she held herself back from Ozzy because he was a returning player, didn't know how to read him, but how she came to see how kind he is, what a great guy he is, etc. Both are really, really nice. If you can't view them, James Barber has transcripts up in Spoilers. Definitely worth seeing.

I actually think Probst would be miffed enough at Coach losing that it would diminish any joy he would have at Ozzy winning. Coach was asked back because Jeff wanted him back; Ozzy was asked back because people overwhelming voted for him when asked on Twitter which player they'd like to see back. Jeff can't stand to be "wrong" about who we the audience wants to see (although he almost always is). When asked who he liked this season recently, Jeff said: "Coach, Jim and Cochran." That's it -- no mention of Ozzy at all. Either he is purposefully trying to build doubt about Ozzy winning, or he actually doesn't like him. I have no idea which, but, like you, am hoping this is all more about editors thinking that Ozzy winning is less important than Coach losing.

Just a note to Cochran's edit. I feel that he has been given a large edit solely for the fact that out of the last two seasons, he was one who actually made a move. Granted, it was the "wrong" move, yet it was at least a move, whereas everyone else seems to be edited to as not willing to change things up. I feel that the producers may have rewarded him for actually trying to improve his game, rather than just staying put?

Or to reward him for helping out Jeff's fav Coach. Seriously, I can totally believe this & I can totally believe production heavily influenced his decision to flip at merge by playing into his nervousness, etc.

Okay, I've not seen the secret scene...and I'm curious. How do you know that Sophie's the one that convinces Coach and Albert to keep Rick instead of Cockroach? She had to offer them some kind of rationale...does anyone know what that was?
