Not to sound like Serena, but for some reason, African American women are held to a higher standard in this competition. I totally agree with you. I'm sure there is a segment of the population who hate blacks and black singers but I can see most regular people watching liking people based on talent.

Of course there are the fraus who tend to dominate the show's voting now and we know how much they like white cock so there is a bit of truth in what Serenaa says.

Kanadian Idol was definitely racist though. Kanada loved men and whites which is kinda the direction AI is going in. I can see the similarities now.

Hey! I thought Ashthon was chosen not simply for race but also for age, so as to complete the kiddiot United Colors of Benetton with Lauren and Thia. That would mean that the other two also benefitted from their age and race (and possibly gender). Why they couldn't have chosen a black girl who can actually sing is the real question, 'cause you know there were prolly much better choices.

People seem to have forgotten, or refused to recognize, that Kendra (and to a slightly lesser extent, Nosen) screwed up royally in their wildcard performances. I am in the minority who thought Ashthon sounded good last week and deserved a shot. I also thought her wildcard performance was so-so, but I don't see that how anybody can say it was far worse than the 3 people who were passed over (Jovany was about as good, but nobody's whining about him not being added). My only problem with the whole process was that I thought Lauren T deserved a wildcard slot instead of Kendra. But the constant cries of racism don't seem to apply here in EITHER direction.

Having said all that, Ashthon didn't impress me on tuesday and I'm not upset that she's gone.
