Actually, my opinions are better than yours. That is why at least one of my idols wins and some goes far.
In terms of AI, women are inferior. A women is always the worst in every season.
AI 5
Lisa and Melissa were the worst this season. Its no surprise they were eliminated early.
AI 6
Every girl except Melinda and Jordin were utterly bad. Not a single one of them is better than any men this season.
AI 7
Kristy Lee Cook is the worst. Ramielle Malubay was also bad and a big disappointment.
AI 8
Jasmin was bad. Lil Rounds was the disappointment. Allison is the worst in the top 6. I always have a bias against raspy voices but it didn't stop Lee and David to be my favorites.
AI 9
Shivan of course. Ugh, she's an Adam wannabe and is doing a very bad job at it.
AI 10
Its a tie between Ashton and Haley. Ashton is bad hitting notes but Haley is bad with talking. How can you like a singer when she can't speak the language you want to hear from them? Plus Haley is very bitchy and arrogant, therefore, its very easy to hate her. Honorable mention: Pia for being boring. Pia can't sing any non-ballads and unlike many ballad singers, she can't connect to me.

Actually females are the best vocalists in the seasons, most of the time.

Tim Urban was the worst for season 9, even though I hated nearly everyone that year but Bowersox, James, and DeWyze. Sanjaya was also the worst season 6, with girl domination. Also, Jordin Sparks is heads above Blake Lewis.

And is it any coincidence that women are the best sellers from this show? Nearly every female winner they've had has a decent career, and several who didn't (Hudson, Pickler). Most of the guys are dead in the water. The only really big sellers for the men I can think of are Daughtry, Lambert (if he doesn't nosedive with the next album like Cook and Archuleta have), and Aiken, and none of them even won. I'm not surprised--I almost always prefer women's voices to men's.

I see the woman haters have gotten on this board in a big way (I do agree with Ino about Elliot, Cookie, KKKristy & Adam while totally disagreeing about seasons 6 & 9). So without bringing women singers into the picture I'll just say that I think Casey had a much better voice than Lee. As for season 10, after a decent version of Maggie Mae Paul put together an amazing streak of six absolutely wretched performances in the finals before he was mercifully voted off. He rarely attempted to get on key, let alone stay on, and seemed drunk and/or barely awake for some of them. With the exception of Danny Gokey it's probably the most consistently awful group of performances in the finals by anybody who got so far. So I think Paul is easily the worst of the finalists (Ashthon had possibilities in this area but was voted off too fast to be sure).

The problem with Paul is that he can't sing - not that he is a good singer or a bad singer - he can't sing. He is unable to sing. Paul should have never made it past the first auditions. For a person to be considered in a singing competition he should first be able to sing to some extent. If he can't meet that minimum requirement then he's in the wrong competition. Paul seems to be talented or appealing in other areas, but in a singing contest he must be able to sing.

This seemed difficult for Paul fantards to understand although they apparently understand the concept in other contests. For example, if a person enters a bowling competition they would expect that person should, at the least, know the basics of bowling and be able to get the ball down the alley in some fashion. That's what Paul couldn't do. In effect, he rolled gutter ball after gutter ball. Not because he's a bad musician or a bad guy or anything like that. But because he is physically unable to do better. It's that simple.

Anyway, Paul wasn't the problem with this season. He was an obvious manifestation. The problem throughout this season was horrific judging from start to finish. Those people are a friggin' disgrace.

Scotty is another one the judges let through who can just barely sing. He can only sing within an half octave range and even within that he's limited because he can't increase his volume on those few notes he can carry. In my book that's not being able to sing. I can't sing worth a damn, but I can do better than that.

Pia isn't my kind of singer, but look at the difference! Where Scotty has to fake both hitting notes and musical emphasis by wagging his eyebrows, making strange faces, and being carried by the background singers, Pia can stand at the microphone, hit all the notes dead on, and add emphasis by increasing power at will, and if needed increasing it again, and then again. No eyebrow wiggling or wonky faces. No deep squats. No faking notes or power by stretching out her arms to the heavens while the background singers sing cover. She can just stand there and do it with her voice. Technically it's quite thrilling at times.

Like I said Pia is definitely not my preferred type of singer, but the idea that a real singer like her can be ejected from the competition and non-singers like Scotty and Paul remain with Scotty winning the contest is beyond the pale. There's just no reason to watch something so stupid happen. And it has commercials to boot!

This Time’s okay. It’s a decent first single, probably equal to Sparks’ Tattoo. Of course, the second single needs to be amazing (Sweet Love level) or she’ll fade quick.

Decent single, but yeah, Pia can actually sing unlike Snotty and the many other male winners. Ugh, I seriously doubt Carrie or Kelly would be able to win Idol with catladies and tween girls controlling the vote this day and age.

Since people were giving their ideas for how the top 10 should have gone, I'll just say that if Pia had won & Scotty had come in 9th I'd think it had been a great season. But there's a real chance that she will get a career out of this anyway, so maybe there's no need to complain.
