Wow, the man look like they are ready for some more air let out of their tank
Jay is actually sitting pretty since Greg, Troy and Colton seem like they'd be the ones to get shafted by their own alliance first while Jonas and Leif stay nice and quiet
Women? It seems pretty simple that if you didn't exist during an episode where you didn't go to TC you may not be in a good spot so Christine may be in trouble
I would say Chelsea and Kim are looking in a great spot and I love Sabrina and she is absolutely necessary to that tribe

Some real Vanatua feel with the men going on as the misfits lead the parade here also

Tonight was our first peek into the men's tribe. My initial thought is they were a bunch of pairs.   I'm guessing this from listening to the Troyzan narration in the episode.

Matt - Mike
Jay - Bill
Troyzan - Jonas
Greg - Lief

That makes sense with Colton coming in with the immunity idol and attracting the "Misfits" or the "Average Joes", depending on what side you were on.   I'm also thinking that Colton appeared to be with the young guys, originally, which made them seem so confident when they didn't have numbers.

Maybe Colton's original role was being wedged between Jay and Bill. He loved Jay and hated Bill. Alright, so that wasn't shown. I'm speculating on that one.

So, Jay jumps the second he has a math moment.   The misfits all love and forgive him for it, although Bill was Tarzan's original undercover player. Jay is getting a major "floater makes good" setup. That's how a winner gets his story hidden in the early going.

Interesing that they show Colton, Jay and Troyan chatting on the beach.

I absolutley love them inserting the Tarzan question to Jeff about the votes not revealed and Colton commenting to "save those questions for me".   Definately setting Colton up as being a leader in game knowledge.

This is my long winded way of saying I'd put Jay in the winners edit list.

Colton: His hair is perfect. It looks combed and clean. His green shirt looks like it's new. 9 days in and he looks like day one.

He pulled a fast one at tribal saying he would play the idol, then didn't. Nice move.

He started out as a big time loser, but all of a sudden he has game and looks like he has control of the 5 guy alliance, with the remains of the muscle 4 trying to get on his good side, and has made himself a non-threatining guy to the girls. He has an Idol.

Right now, he appears to be the most powerful player in the game.

I wonder if the guys try to convince the girls that Colton played the idol, making them think the idol is gone.

That could explain Greg telling them there was a betrayal.

As far as the other stuff-have no idea.

Perhaps one of the guys has been sneaking the girls things without the others knowing-as revenge for his tribe.

Ok so the traitor would be Leif - look at the hair of person who Tarzan is speaking to and then when Colton says "you picked the wrong side" you can see arm with tattoo, which after checking, seems to be Leif's.

Well someone told Bill and Mike about the "Average-Joe" plan. Not sure if it was Leif, but it very well could have been Jay.

Something hit me about the difference between the girls vote and the guys vote.

When Kim and Chelsea spoke before the episode 2 TC, Kim stressed how much they needed the girls to trust them. They stayed loyal. No drama after the vote.

With the guys, there was so much chaos that NOBODY trusts ANYONE. If there is a switch, the girls may have an upper hand considering how splintered and divided the guys are and seem to be in next episode.

There's an insider clip that features Jonas as Troy's right hand man. It also features a snippet with Matt and Jonas.

The fact that this Jonas clip was not in the actual show does not help Jonas's story overall. If he was so crucial and had major longevity (even winning) you'd think they would have shown his complexity in last night's situation. He was left out of it meaning he is not as important as many of us would have hoped.

Blerg, the women are setting a really gross tone. Instead of painting women as whiners who can't get along without men, I'm hoping this portrayal influences the endgame in some way. Otherwise, ew. Glad we got to know them before this, though, otherwise they would have come across as straight up losers. It's was the men's story last night, otherwise.

Chelsea: puts comfort over all else. Hence, will sell out her tribe or alliance in a minute if something better comes along. Nina wasn't better than Kat, so that doesn't count. Funny how she says they're looking at the weaker players when she's the one who cried the loudest over some water.

Alicia: still confusing being a bitch with being strong.

And there were other women. Sabrina, you thought that game aged you? These women are mostly certainly gonna add some years to you, girl.

Jonas: well, look who's considered a rooster by Matt. The contrast of working together and being a bossy monster on a community level was set with Christina and Alicia, and now a contrast for the same is being set up on the strategy level with Jonas and Colton. It's been sparsely seen, but Jonas' interactions with the women has been mellow and respectful, whereas Colton's has been that of a kid who wants to be pet. Or maybe that of a pomeranian. I'm not sure what Capote is going for here. So while we've seen little of Jonas, he's still present where it matters. He's nice to the women, he's included by Matt for the rooster club, and everyone likes him. Little seen, but much influence.

Jay: sucker! Thought you'd catch the misfits and bust it up, and you got captured. Straight up captured. And now sitting with misfits. Flip flopper, not reliable in an alliance.

Troyzan: you know, I'm starting to like this guy. He came off really well last night. With the men. It's not looking good for him once merge hits, as there's a definite oil and water thing going on there.

Colton: Richard Hatch 2.0. He has the ease of Boston Rob, the nonchalance of Sandra. Interesting how after saying how nurturing women are, Tarzan swooped in and protected Colton. So he's pretty much controlling the men's camp, and is a fairly benevolent dictator. He let them vote out Matt instead of Bill, demonstrating his ability to put the needs of the many before the need of the one. For now. Like the pampered toy dog he longs to be, he is going to end up biting the ankle of someone who will kick back. I can't tell who the fight will be with, but there's a fight coming. His cocky attitude demands it. (Although I am loving him. Kid is smart.)

Bill: clearly on drugs, but cute, so he gets a pass. By me. Not by them. Bill has no game as far as we can tell, and seems to be enjoying watching the experience instead of participating in it. And he will go out with a smile.

Grandpa is befuddled, or is he? *whispers: is it all an act?* Mike and Lief are there. I guess Mike will start to come through more now. Matt stunk up the place and overshadowed Mike entirely. With him gone, Mike's inner Loki is going to come back out to play. Coffee!

Considering he went from a 4 person alliance to a majority in order to keep his name off the block for a while, I don't think we are intended to think of Jay as a flip-flopper, rather an opportunist.

Before this eppy, Jonas was the only guy with a possible winner edit. His tribe finally goes to TC and he gets NADA - one fluff confessional, limited pre-TC visibility and zip-all at TC. He's TOAST.

Troy has the best edit for the guys and I've grown to like him but he's just Mister Soundbite right now.

The winner is a female - no doubt. And it's either Chelsea or Kim.

Kim's getting a half-decent edit, hidden by the distractions on her tribe. Alicia. Kat. Sab. But there is one female who's getting an even better edit than Kim, and that's Chelsea.

In Ep1, Chelsea was introduced as part of the ruling alliance of five but was hidden from the antics of her tribe. She got her chicken-catching moment in the sun, confessionals at key times in the edit, plus a TCQ that didn't involve the Alicia/Christina bullshit.

In Ep2, she nominated Sab and got Sab elected as leader of the Salani tribe (Todd/Aaron). When Nina was scrambling, who was Nina shown to approach? Not Sab. Not Kim. CHELSEA. I have no doubt that Nina approached anyone and everyone on the Salani tribe, but only the talk with Chelsea was shown. And Chelsea got the only confessional during the pre-TC confab scene between Kim and Chelsea.

Ep3. Who gets the post TC comments where Kat was kept over Nina? Not Kat. Not Sab. Not Monica. Not Kim. CHELSEA. Chelsea first approached/negotiated fire/shelter privileges for the ladies. When the guys started chirping at the ladies about canoe usage, Alicia received the brunt of the negativity, not Chelsea. And after the ladies defeated the guys in the IC, who got the only comments from the Salani tribe before the pre-TC Manono scenes? Not Puzzle Queen Sab. Not (this season's Andrea) Kim. Not ladies-on-the-chopping-block Monica or Christina or Kat. CHELSEA.

Fair enough. I'm going off of the way he strode in John Wayne style to bust it up, and ended having his proverbial hind handed to him, and wound up being guarded by the King later on. (I'm totally added my own interpretation to it, ha!) It looks like he cowers easily, hence the flip flopping. But we'll see.

does anyone else think Sabrina's edit is like that of early season Survivor's where you have a cool down episode right before your boot? I dont look at spoilers and I know alot of people in here do, so they have some sort of rumour of who goes, but Sabrina seems like a candidate for an EP4 boot if Chelsea/Kim/Monica/Christine team up and take out their leader a la the MEN.
I dont really think this is going to happen (though) id enjoy seeing it and wouldnt be terribly shocked by it. This perhaps goes with Probst tease about a game changing tribal council.

Matt recieved 0 confessionals (down from 4) before his boot episode (back up to 4) and Nina recieved just 1 before she was booted in EP2 with 5

This season is getting good.

Kim: Sabrina may be the elected tribe's leader, but Kim is really the one who is in the drivers seat.

Chelsea: It's clear that we are supposed to feel sad for Chelsea because of the harsh elements. She showed how resilient she, as the day after she was out in the ocean catching fish. I can't tell if she's getting a "winners" edit or that of a fan favorite who needs to be justified to the public as an option for a return season.

Sabrina: her story had a cool down this episode, was shown as not so effective at using her voice to guide her tribe mates yet still made a come from behind victory.

Monica: who?

Alicia: not so bitchy, yet still considered a bitch from the guys, her bond with Kat is cute.

Kat: shes so stupid but you can't help but smile when she finally helps with wins in the challenges

Christina: who?

Troyzan: He seems to be the real leader on Manono, I can't wait to see what he does when the tribes swap and if he makes it to the merge.

Tarzan: I didn't like Greg at all the first three episodes but he was sorta hilarious tonight. He doesn't seem to have much of a story though

Colton: Colton is getting cocky, and could be getting set up for a fall, and when he falls, it will be hard. His hatred of Bill's voice was justified, but I don't see how he can get far with hating everyone in the game. He thinks he's leading, yet doesn't realize that he's expendable.

Mike: shielded from the negativity of Matt, yet was clearly identified as Matt's closest ally/friend. I can deff. see him teaming up with some of the stronger women once they swap/at the merge. Interesting that he voted against Bill and not Matt. I'm assuming he promised Matt to not write his name down and knew that Bill wouldn't be mad at him for the vote.

Bill: Bill is just annoying.

Jay: Smartly switched alliances at the most opportune moment, and I'm assuming he informed Bill/Mike that Matt was going home, otherwise they wouldn't have switched their votes.

Leif:Leif's story is all on the insider, but aside from that he is absent from this show.

Jonas: still just a narrator.

I thought so, too, at least him, maybe not the non-counting buff guys. But who knows what the score really was, those sorts of things they can easily manipulate the edit.
