movie release has been moved up to July 11th,
and there's new deluxe cover art at mugglenet. if i re3member later, i'll go grab the image.. if not, you can go there and see it. harry, ron and hermione on a dragon. |

saw the midnight showing of OOTP.
It was pretty good. They had to cut out a lot (obviously). I'm glad I had read the book because I'm not sure it could be followed without that background info. |

The movie was OK. I had a problem with Harry handing over the prophecy to Lucius Malfoy. On What planet would Harry Potter hand over something that Voldemort wants SO badly?

Yeah, it was destroyed when it fell from Neville's pocket. Harry protected the prophecy for 2 reasons: A) they wouldn't attack him while he had it lest it break, and B) BECAUSE VOLDEMORT WANTED IT! There had to be a reason that Voldemort wanted it andI just can't believe that Harry would hand it over to a death eater. It just seemed kind of weak for Harry to kind of give up like that.

Just saw it.
Useless unless you know all about the background and have seen all the other movies/read the books. I am surprised Ron and Hermione even showed up; their characters as written were totally extraneous. Especially Ron Did he have more than 5 lines in the entire movie? This movie was HARRY'S I liked Luna. She played the lines written for her well. However, she wasn't given much to work with. If you didn't know (from the book) that she was supposed to be a total space cadet , your reaction to her in the movie would be WTF? Snape is adorable, but again, not given much to work with. NONE of the humorous stuff from previous films. Umbridge did pretty well, but you only saw snippets of what she was capable of. Again...writers. Bottom line, the movie was about HARRY. No other story, no other characters. And very very poorly written. The dialogue, when there was any, was pathetic. Even George and Fred were ho hum, if you can believe it! Special effects were awesome. So was Bellatrix, all 30 seconds of her. |

Okay, I loved OoP as it was written. But the movie SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!! It was just awful. The 'Dursley's' were terrible actors and what the hell did Petunia have on? Totally ruined the scene with only one owl. It went down hill from there. The scene when Fred and George leave the school was destroyed.
The whole story was impossilbe to follow if you aren't a HP reader. |

I'm re-reading the series, and I wanted to know if anyone knew what "Wotcher" meant? It seems as though Tonks always greets Harry by saying "Wotcher, Harry" and I really have no clue what it means...
