I don't think it gets any crazier than this!!! After work on Friday, I jumped in my Torrent to drive from Houston to Austin for Saturday’s UT vs. Colorado tailgating party with Texas Student Media. It was about 4 in the morning and as I'm driving on Highway 290 I see a yellow truck honking, and trying to get me to pull over. It was a little scary since it was in the wee hours of the morning and I was driving alone. I had someone following me just to be safe who was calling me saying "Don't pull over, it's the middle of the night and you don't know these people." Well, about an 1 1/2 hours into our trip with the yellow truck still following us, we needed to stop to get gas. Mind you they had followed me from Houston almost all the way to Austin. They followed us into the gas station and happened to be THE NICEST, SWEETEST couple who are huge Survivor fans!!! I took pictures with Aaron and Marta at a tiny little gas station in the middle of nowhere and talked to them about Survivor. Aaron's sister Kristie was on the phone with them the whole time telling her brother that she would disown him if he didn't follow me until I stopped to get a picture!!

They turned a somewhat scary story into a hilarious one that I can now tell all of you! Thank you so much to Aaron, Marta, and Kristie for being such huge Survivor fans and making my trip an extremely memorable one!! You guys are so cool, and I'm sorry you had to follow me that far. I was just looking out for my safety!

After our encounter, Aaron and Marta turned around and drove all the way back to Houston. Probably a 2-hour drive! It's people like you that make this contest and my Survivor experience definitely worth while! Your autographed pictures are in the mail!!

Nothing beats that story so far for me, but I did have a great time tailgating with everyone on Sat. in Austin cheering on the UT Longhorns! I will be back again next Saturday, Oct. 22 for the UT/Texas Tech game. Look for us in the lot on the corner of MLK and Brazos with the Texas Student Media Airstream and blimp!
