1) Amazon (would be better if Tambaqui weren't mostly boring) 2) Pearl Islands (would be #1 if Rupert lasted longer) 3) Micronesia (LOVED the blindsides and Parvati... would've been better if the fans were less dull) 4) Marquesas (one of the best seasons, IMO. Kathy winning would have made it DIVINE) 5) Exile Island (would have been MUCH higher if Terry didn't dominate the I/Cs) 6) Cook Islands (loved the racial divide and loved/suckered into the Aitu 4 storyline... more character development would have made it better. twists were kinda good, IMO) Like 7) China (liked it a lot but Zhan Hu losing really dragged it down. Courtney <3 Peih Gee <3 Jaime <3) 8) Borneo (first season I watched and the Final 4 was truly awesome. Pagonging was bleh though...) 9) Outback (somehow I didn't really get all the hype about this. Colby = bleh. Tina = okay... Amber = snoozefest. but all in all, still a wonderful season) 10) Tocantins (liked it a lot. JT winning by 7-0 really dropped it down a lot, I guess... Taj + Erinn + Coach + Sierra + Stephen Final 5 would've OWNED) 11) Guatemala (liked this one too. Stephenie <3 Rafe <3 Danni <3 Judd/Jaime assholery <3 all in all, pretty good but got somewhat dull overall) Bleh 12) Fiji (this one would have easily cracked top 7-8 had it not been the ridiculously annoying + mundane pre-merge. it SUCKED. but post-merge was really entertaining and great!) 13) Palau (the first half kinda stank especially since I felt that Ulong > Koror... then the later part Koror was kinda bleh though I liked Ian and Katie... Tom sucks...) 14) Gabon (would have been MUCH higher if based solely on the first 3/4 of it. but Sugar (who made it initially great) brought it down and Bob winning = SUCKS) 15) Africa (can't remember much about this season but it was dull-city, if I'm not wrong...) 16) Thailand (more or less watchable but could have been more entertaining. Brian <3 Helen <3 Shii Ann <33 Robb <3) Hate 17) Vanuatu (hated Chris, loved Ami. so the last 2/3 or so left a REALLY bad taste in my mouth. though I'm sure if I rewatch it, i'll like it a bit more... but as of now... no thanks.) 18) All-Stars (WORST.SEASON.EVER) |

After all these recent coma-inducing seasons like Palau, CI, Fiji and Gabon, I'm baffled that some people still insist that Thailand is the worst season
ever. I guess some people are just that stubborn. "It was the first season that I hated and so shall it be for eternity"

Shii Ann's merge twist stuff up was the only redeeming quality in Thailand in terms of its amusement factor. Everything else was forgettable or negative.
Including the fact that I liked Shii Ann anyway lol.
I really think Brian endures to this day to be the WORST WINNER, perhaps aside from the ASS showmance winner(s). When remembering early season winners, for some reason I always look back wistfully at Hatch, Tina, Ethan, Vee, Jenna and Sandra and deliberately forget about that other guy in the middle there somewhere. And Thailand's major loss record for Sook Jai was just a terrible losing streak. At least Palau's was amusing because the merge wasn't really a merge at all. It was just Stephenie being 'annexed' by Koror, and they kept the same tribe name. A hilarious and awesome feat that will go down in the annals of Survivor history. |

very interesting to read all your comments in this thread!
my first episode to ever watch was s18ep11 , so im kind of a noob with survivor! but since then i've watched every season all episodes! still it's kinda hard to pick a favourite season for me! when it comes to gameplay i think the early episodes are more weak then the newer ones! season 1-3 i think pleople dont get what it's all about with survivor! they dont strategize as much as people do in the later seasons, so its a little bit boring! also there are no real villans or people to dislike like in the later seasons! i''m really looking forward to season 19... hope they bring back some contestants from earlier season! would spice up the whole thing 4 sure! does anyone know when the nxt season will be aired? |

Let me point out, I don't think Thailand is worst. Since Fiji, I've thought it to the worst of the seasons, up (or down, rather) there with Thailand
and All-Stars. Thailand and All-Stars are interchangeable, but Fiji's probably always gonna be bottom for me.

18) All-Stars. If you completely flipped the boot order, ASS would have been a tolerable to fairly awesome season. 17) Fiji. Pretty much disliked Fiji's cast up and down. Haves vs. Have Nots twist really bugged the crap out of me. MEH: 16) Thailand. On the whole, unlikable cast + not great strategy = not a super season. 15) Africa. The strategy in this season is so bad, it makes me cringe. 14) Cook Islands. Really hated the pretense of the race twist. 13) Vanuatu. I was totally behind a female winner ... except ... Chris won? What? 12) Marquesas. Totally meh. But upper end meh. LIKE: 11) Amazon. A couple of years ago, this would have been ranked WAY lower. Have since had two pleasant re-watches. 10) Palau. Not a fan of Steph and Bobby Jon getting shoved down my throat. Ian still makes me cringe. 9) Guatemala. Not a fan of Steph and Bobby Jon getting shoved down my throat ... again. Would have been so much better had Brian C made it further. 8) Gabon. Totally loved and hated the Onions all at once. Loved the Kenny/Crystal alliance. Then ... Bob wins? WTF? 7) Survivor. I still see most of the cast as some kind of legends in motion and I definitely still have a lot of love for Survivor even though it's not as entertaining to me as it used to be. 6) Outback. Really hit my Survivor obsession stride during Outback. 5) Micronesia. Watching a women's alliance actually work was pretty awesome. Watching a lot of idol drama was pretty awesome. Watching Cirie get dumped at 3 ... was not so awesome. LOVE: 4) China. Awesome location + awesome cast + Idol drama that didn't totally suck because it involved inter-tribe relationships = hella good time. 3) Exile Island. Loved the cast, loved the Casaya vs. Terry dynamic, I loved hating Terry, later I just straight up loved Terry, I still like Aras as a winner, and EI has Cirie and Shane. 2) Tocantins. Maybe I should have waited for my post-season high bias to go away? Oh, to hell with it. I just love this cast. Best F2 in the history of the game? Hell yes. Hell, best jury in the history of the game. 1) Pearl Islands. My favorite in terms of characters, storylines, gameplay (both atrocious and surprisingly brilliant) and the theming was in my opinion the best Survivor has ever had. I usually start out first-time Survivor watchers with PI. Hasn't failed me yet. edited to be shorter because I'm too verbose.
